The global phenomenon of reoccurring natural disasters and weather is a clear indication of reality of global warming and climate change.
The argument of whether or not human activities is the cause of these changes and event is irrelevant. There is a great need to provide solutions that will mitigate these adverse climatic changes.

The climate and environment which make up our ecosystems are destroyed by daily activities and uncontrolled pollution of water, land and air habitation.

In Nigeria the reality of climate change is no less different with excessively high carbon emission from coal and fossil fuel powered industrial plants and machinery. Adding to this is the ever increasing waste Nigeria is building. It is known that the biggest landfill in all of Africa is located in Lagos Nigeria. These landfills pose an equally grave danger to the environment and eventually to human existence.

A research work that studied the flora and fauna diversity on a land fill in Nigeria six years back, (A supporting work to that research: Oni, A. A., Hassan, A. T., & Li, P. (2011). Toxicity of leachates from the Aba-Eku landfill leachate lagoon, Ibadan), reveals the threat that the dumpsites we have across the country poses to lives in general, more especially those living within easy access to the dumpsite, being exposed leaking leachate into the groundwater and depositing some poisonous metals into the ground water. This was verified by the soil and plant samples taken to the laboratory for analysis and the result came back showing a common metal contained in the soil was also present in the different plant species at varying quantities.
The most important benefit of this venture would be creating a cleaner, greener and healthier environment and climate for the populace with special emphasis on Africa as one of the largest producers of environmental waste and with a very low level of knowledge on environmental preservation.
